Forevermark was born in 2008 as a diamond brand from The De Beers Group of Companies, inscribed with a promise that goes beyond the traditional 4 Cs to include rigid quality and integrity standards. De Beers, the world’s leading diamond business with unrivalled expertise in the exploration, sourcing, and marketing of diamonds since its founding in 1888, spread the slogan “A Diamond Is Forever” worldwide.

The De Beers Group has identified a need in today’s market for a unique diamond brand that offers new standards. The slogan has evolved to – The Diamond. The Promise. – emphasising the unique inscription on each Forevermark diamond, a promise that each diamond is beautiful, rare, and responsibly sourced.

The journey of a Forevermark diamond begins in countries such as South Africa, Botswana and Namibia where rough diamonds are sourced. Less than 1% of the world’s diamonds are eligible to become a Forevermark diamond and they are carefully selected from mines committed to high standards. Just as a Forevermark diamond can only come from an approved mine it can only be cut and polished by an approved “Diamantaire.” Using advanced proprietary technology, each Forevermark diamond is inscribed with an icon and individual number as proof of the promise that it has met Forevermark’s standards of beauty, rarity and responsible sourcing.

Caratco, one of the largest diamond companies in South Africa, includes manufacturing, wholesale and retail operations, and has the exclusive license to distribute Forevermark in South Africa. Forevermark diamonds and jewellery are now available at a significant number of authorized jewellers in South Africa. Discover more at
